The ride from Riverrun gave time for Torrhen to ponder his grandfather's words concerning his aunt Lysa, Littlefinger, his mother and uncle Brandon. While he could understand why he did it, the mere thought made his stomach turn at the coldness and callousness of it all. 'No wonder aunt Lysa is so protective of Robin', he thought as he recalled all of her miscarriages and stillbirths and the toll they had taken on her, to say nothing of being forced to marry a man old enough to be her father or even grandfather. Despite his opinions on her behavior, he found himself feeling pity for her and the unfortunate turns that her life had taken. No one deserved to suffer like that. At least his grandfather felt some remorse for his actions, small comfort that it was. But was it too late to make amends? Perhaps it was, sadly. Hoster Tully had years to apologize for what he had done and had said nothing, to say nothing of whether Lysa would ever accept an apology. Perhaps when the war was over
